2019 was our pilot year for the LebNet internship program. We reached out to Lebanese CEOs and reached into the Lebanese collegiate networks and clubs to find matches. We secured 7 paying internships: 2 in Canada with Spark Microsystems, 4 in San Diego with Wearable Sensing and 1 in Silicon Valley with Qnovo Corporation. The 2019 program was successful as we filled 3 positions in the USA and Canada.

- Design, simulation, implementation and test of RF components and RF integrated circuits.
- Produce design specifications, detailed design descriptions, verification plans, schematics and bill of materials for designs.
- Laboratory verification, design verification, troubleshooting and design characterization using signal generators, oscilloscopes, TDRs, logic analyzers, network analyzers, etc.
- Work directly with colleagues in PCB layout, Systems, Digital hardware, Embedded Software Development, Mechanical Engineering and Operations (Component Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Test) to complete design and introduce to manufacturing.
- Incorporate “Design for Manufacture” industry best practices into each design.
- Investigate and complete ECOs to ensure product documentation is current and reflects latest engineering standards.
- Support to design team touching firmware, software and integrated circuits design.
- Any other relevant tasks which can transcend the aforementioned duties and responsibilities

The intern will be involved in all aspects of filing an 510(k) application to the FDA for Wearable Sensing’s first medical product, an ambulatory EEG headset. The intern will assist in all aspects of the submission, from document control, to finalizing documents describing procedures and biocompatibility results, to discussions with the FDA. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to test and demonstrate their new skills and training in regulatory affairs. As a team member, the new intern would be expected to assist in assembling the 510(k) application package through final submission to the FDA, including:
- Assisting in completion of suitable document control and Quality System
- Interfacing with engineers to document manufacturing procedures
- Interface with 3rd parties providing biocompatibility testing
- Participation in design reviews and interfacing with the FDA
- Preparation of 510(k) pre-submission and application packages

Skills and requirements: The successful candidate will have strengths in following areas:
- Computer science or engineering degree

- Proficiency in VR/AR programming environments such as Unreal or Unity is required
