Dear LebNeters:
Wow! The last 6 weeks have been extremely busy for LebNet and on behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank you for putting up with the barrage of email announcements and for your unwavering commitment to volunteer, mentor and respond with enthusiasm whenever you’re asked!
Your passion and support is paying off as we are very pleased to announce that we just crossed the 500 members threshold, and our plans to achieve the magic 1000 mark are already in play!
LebNet continues to execute on its mission of building a great networking platform for our high-tech community, nurturing our next generation Lebanese professionals, and connecting with our counterparts in Lebanon. While our brand continues to rise, we rely on you to keep spreading the word, and to invite your friends to join the group and participate in this fantastic journey.
Our first event in NYC was a blast, and our 5 attending board members were left with a huge sense of heightened responsibility to expand our membership and presence to the East Coast. Our proudest moment was when 3 founders of NY/NJ based Lebanese startups stood up and spoke about the benefits they reaped from being mentored by other LebNet members and how they were now ready to pay it forward. (Rabih Nassar- Scriptr, Eddy Touma- Klangoo, & Tarek Fadel-FADEL). We are now in full planning mode to proceed forward with a concrete expansion timetable, stay tuned.
As usual, I have so many anecdotes to share with you that tell the story of our community’s accelerated growth but I will respect your precious reading time and leave it to when we meet in person at our next event.
I would like to thank all our donors who make all this progress possible and allow me to plug the fact that our fund raising campaign is still active for those who have not gotten around to it yet.
Happy Reading!
Sincerely,
George Akiki, LebNet President and Co-Founder
