After a brief presentation by LebNet president,George Akiki, of LebNet’s 3 year strategic plan,  our guest speaker Habib Kairouz, member of the Steering Committee of Lebanon for Entrepreneurs (LFE), Board member of LIFE, and Managing Partner of Rho Ventures told the audience about the ins and outs of the Banque du Liban (BDL) BDL circular #331 . More particularly, he showed how the ecosystem stakeholders were able to influence BDL to expand the implementation of this circular to Lebanese entrepreneurs abroad. Habib guided us through the history of this important official text, from birth until today, highlighting the efforts deployed to align Lebanon with the other countries in the region, in terms of start up funding.
Elie Habib, Co- Founder and Board member of LebNet, and Venture Partner at MEVP, explained the Circular 331 mechanisms, challenges and opportunities. Through concrete examples, Elie explained to the audience how they could and should benefit from this window of opportunity, right now.
More than 40 people attended the event, from diverse backgrounds, students, seasoned C level professionals, and young entrepreneurs. More than 10 potential candidates to benefit from 331, were present either from the US or from Lebanon, among which, Hassane Slaibi, founder of Roadie tuner, a LebNet mentored company.
